My Entrepreneurship Story-3A

All my life I have always been an innovative and creative person, and I have my parents to thank for that. My parents, being immigrants from Peru and moving here to start a life completely from scratch, have always had the tenacity and drive to solve problems, think of solutions, and enact those solutions. In short, my father went from being a busboy in a BBQ joint in North Carolina, to being the Regional Project manager for every Bank Of America in the Southeast of the United States, and my mom went from being a stay at home mom to being the director of her own Dayschool. This was no accident, it was all about the risks they took, the chances they took, and the mindset to create, networking skills, and a never ending drive to better their families life. This has always been an example I followed and looked up to. My first entrepreneur story begins in middle school. My friends and I started a small little rap group, we made music for ourselves and then our friends told us that it was good. As we gained popularity online, we began to sell CD's of our music in school and in various school in our are of Broward County. We sold out in a week, and what I saw as a hobby and a way to have fun with my creativity, became a legit money maker, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. All throughout high school, I began to involve myself in various clubs, and held leadership positions in these clubs where I piloted various events and fundraisers. For example, as Class Vice President I came up with the idea of selling lanyards which each had a certain code. So when someone bought a lanyard they were immediately entered a raffle to win a TV. This sky-rocketed our sale of lanyards and made us money. I also was in charge of the dispersal of funds for our Prom budget (and threw the after party which meant selling tickets and collecting money) as well as various other graduation events. All these were things I did with a team, and had to use my creativity to come up with ideas and apply them. I also started my own club, which was a very simple club called The Rubiks Cube Club, where people got together to solve Rubiks cubes, and newcomers came to learn how to solve one. In High School I also discovered cryptocurrency, and used software to purchase and sell Bitcoin, Etherium, and Litecoin in order to make money by buying low and selling high. Up to now, I haven't undertake many entrepreneur type activities, as I am simply studying in college for the time being. I enrolled in this class to not only help me with the skills I currently have, but to also learn new things to improve upon this skill. I am ecstatic to learn more about what it means to be a true entrepreneur. Image result for entrepreneur

  1. Adrian,

Just by reading the personal content you have provided about your parents and the various activities you were involved in throughout middle school/high school, I can definitely see that you are an ambitious, creative thinker! One thing in particular that I admired about your post, was your ingenuity in raising funds for your prom/after party. Enticing fellow students to buy lanyards for a shot at a brand new T.V. was genius! In addition, I am still curious about bitcoin to this very day. Personally, I've never gotten involved, but over the years I have heard a lot about it!
I, too, am eager to learn more about entrepreneurship and what it takes to be successful creating/owning your very own business.
