My Opportunity Belief-4A
1) I believe that many people suffer from the bias of News Networks, and it skews their views on multiple issues, pushing further the agenda of the news networks and those who provide the funding for their shows. There has to be a need for a regulation of news networks and what they can pass on as 'News" and what they should pass on as opinionated talk shows. Also a way of regulating headlines throughout all news networks alike.
2) The unmet need is the need for a regulation of news networks and their characterization of news versus opinions and flat out speculation. The need is not only for the news outlets, but also for the audience watching the news who want simple, factual, unbiased news but instead are fed speculation by different news outlets who have an agenda to push. This need was produced by the growing bias in different news networks, and how new outlets have become more towards entertainment instead of informing. Many people are trying to move away from bias outlets that push a certain political parties agenda such as CNN and Democratic Party, or FOX NEWS and the Republican Party, and go more towards news outlets that provide news without opinions or tuning into Local News stations. Many viewers are now aware of the lingering agenda each news outlet it trying to push.
3) Prototypical costumer #1
Harris Khan- My 18 year old roommate who is a political science major and avidly keeps up with the news and the media
Armando Rios- My 20 year old cousin who immigrated to America from Peru and tries to learn as much as he can about American politics through the news.
Martin Mercado- My father who is active in his role as an American Citizen and liks to be informed about the government.
4) Harris became aware of the need to have unbiased news medias through the nature of the way news stories are brought up, their headlines, and the differing opinions on the same story on different news outlets. He is addressing this need by not tuning in to mainstream news outlets, and instead reading news about American politics from researchers, and from third party sources such as Australian news. He is not at all Satisfied with this solution, as he believes that there should be no reason for Americans to have to search this hard in order to receive accurate news about the state of their own country.
Armando did not become aware about the different media bias that existed in the United States, but when I interviewed him further, he came to realize that indeed it is a problem that various media outlets create a bias for their audience.
Martin was very aware of the role media outlets play in creating a bias. And agreed that there needs to be certain policies to stop the continuing of these media outlets creating a bias and division among news stations and citizens themselves. He simply watches different news stations as his solution.
5) I can tell that many of the different viewpoints of my customers differ in the way that they receive their news or in the amount of interest that each of these customers have for their news. When one is interested enough in the opportunity to change this about their reception of the new.
7) The original opportunity still exists with various limitations, and I believe that the new opportunity is more accurate because it provides certain guidelines to how new viewers can avoid the issue of bias news outlets. Even though not everyone uses this opportunity, there are many adaptations entrepreneurs can use to allow this opportunity to be available to everyone.
Hello Ricardo! At first sight, your proposal seems ambitious, credits for that. I agree with you when you talk about how biased the news network world can be most of the time. Which is a delicate topic as people believe what they see through this media and somehow it shapes how society acts. You have an interesting idea going on and I would very like to see how it develops.
ReplyDeleteHey Adrian, I agree that biased news networks can skew people's views. And with the prevalence of "fake news" in today's society a form of news network regulation maybe a good idea. However, it would be difficult for such regulators to keep honest in a world run by money. I still think it is an idea worth looking into and I would like to see it develop further.
