15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior
In the alternative evaluation, I offered a variety of alternatives to the service of an online or fake news prompting software. In actuality, there is not really a solid alternative to this service since nothing has been undertaken to this magnitude regarding a filter of fake news or misinformation, but as an alternative I offered a consultation from a professional or a website that uses user reviews instead of my original idea of a browser extension that could be installed and use user memory and algorithms to determine the legitimacy of articles and news sources the user clicks on.
Consultant alternative would be having consultants and professional journalists on call to be able to ask and determine whether the article or news source is legit.
A website that would use user provided recommendations for which news sources are legitimate.
From the alternatives the interviewees chose the website because it was the easier alternatives. The accessibility of simply clicking and typing and copying and pasting a link is way more appealing then having to call and consult a professional, even though it would be more reliable than a website where users that may not be as experienced input an opinion on a source that may be misinformed as well.
The interviewees said that these alternatives do not sound anywhere near as appealing as my product. The fact that my product would be as simple as installing an extension as an app onto an internet browser and paying a monthly fee for the service versus having to call someone for their consultation on a news site which would take more time and not be as instantaneous.
