The resources in my venture and their VRIN analysis are as follows.
My fathers friend who works for CNN in Atlanta. Valuable because it adds experience to the field, rare because not many people hav a close friend who works at one of the best news stations in the world, not as imitable because he brings a unique perspective to the news world and non substitutable is not as much because many people work in these prestigious networks.
Government funding. Valuable because it comes from a powerful place, rare because they can provide a lot of funds to push the governments agenda with my product, not as imitable because not many people can duplicate the amount of money the government can provide and not as substitutable due to the source it is coming from.
Private organizations who want to stop slander and libel. These organization can provide a great deal of funding and social support to the venture because they can use this tool to get rid of news sources that are spreading lies or misinformation about them and damaging their organization. Valuable because it comes from a powerful place, rare because they can provide a lot of funds to push the agenda with my product, not as imitable because not many people can duplicate the amount of money these organizations can provide and not as substitutable due to the source it is coming from.
My top resource is for sure the Private organizations that choose to fund this product. Many businesses and organizations have been damaged by the effects of fake news, but with this product they can invest resources such as public figures to endorse the credibility of the Fake News Filter and back it up with funding.

I think your approach for extending your business' target is very doable and most importantly, achievable. Also, I would like to point out the importance of friendliness in business, which you remarked in your last point. It definitely looks like you have yourself an organized idea that can lead to desired profits. Wish you success in this new venture.

ReplyDeleteI believe that you have many resources and "unfair advantages" that would put you ahead of the competition. Especially the fact that you have a familial relation with a professional in the field. However, I believe that this post also leaves a lot to be desired, with not many advantages listed. I don't know if this implies that you don't have many, but I do believe that you should have more especially with a concept like yours.
As I have said before I really like your venture and idea, and it seems that you have many valuable resources at your disposal. Your resources, could greatly help you grow your business. I think it is a great idea to pitch your business to news organizations and having a friend in CNN should make your efforts much easier. If you believe that you could gain government funding, or if you have already it seems that you are on your way to having a successful business. Hope to hear more!
